1. Who we are

Willbeing is operated by Canada Notary ("we", "us", "our"). We are a regulated notary practice operating in Canada. Our privacy practices comply with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and applicable provincial privacy legislation.

2. Information we collect

We collect information you provide directly: your name, date of birth, address, email, phone number, and the answers to the will questionnaire. We also collect payment information through Stripe (we do not store credit card numbers). We collect usage data through analytics to improve our service.

3. How we use your information

We use your information to prepare your legal documents, execute them at Canada Notary, store them in the Will Vault, send transactional emails, and provide customer support. We do not sell your information to third parties. We do not use your information for advertising.

4. Data storage

Your documents and personal information are stored on Canadian servers (AWS ca-central-1 region) and Supabase PostgreSQL databases. Your will documents are encrypted at rest using AES-256. We retain your data for as long as your account is active and as required by law.

5. Third-party services

We use Clerk for authentication, Stripe for payment processing, AWS S3 for document storage, and Resend for transactional email. Each of these services has their own privacy policy. We only share the minimum data necessary for these services to function.

6. Your rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information. You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete your account by contacting hello@willbeing.ca. Note that some information may be retained for legal compliance purposes.
